Who Participates?

Quality and regulatory employees who are interested in learning more about animal food safety programs, FSMA compliance and/or are looking to get a facility FSC36 Safe Feed/Safe Food certified. This course is also applicable to those who may be interested in developing a foundation to becoming a designated PCQI at the facility or part of a PCQI team and are seeking to understand more about FSMA animal food rule.

How to Participate?

AFIA 600: Designing, Implementing and Documenting an Animal Food Safety Program begins November 12, and will last a total of five weeks. This is an online course and participants can watch the modules at their own pace.   

About the Event 

AFIA 600 is a self-paced, five-week professional development course. This comprehensive, online webinar course offers self-paced professional development opportunity in which participants will learn about manufacturing safe, quality animal food. The course will also cover the Safe Feed/Safe Food (SF/SF) system, benefits of using the program and an overview of the requirements for the FSC36 SF/SF Certificate. This course will equip participants with the knowledge and tools to establish and maintain robust animal food safety programs. The AFIA 600 course delves into essential aspects of safety and quality, such as management commitment and responsibilities, quality and food safety management systems, FSMA current good manufacturing practices, personnel and training, infrastructure, new product development, product realization, purchasing processes and controls, validation and verification and the development of a comprehensive animal food safety plan. Upon completion, participants will be well-equipped to design, implement and document effective animal food safety programs that will help ensure the safety and quality of their products.
