APHIS and Industry: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Importing/Exporting Animal Products

Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

GWCC Room - A404-405

Rate: $280 early-bird; $380 after Jan. 10
***Event sponsored by AFIA, PFI and NARA. Members of these organizations should see their representatives for a discount coupon to attend the event at the member rate.

This opportunity will allow American Feed Industry Association, North American Renderers Association, and Pet Food Institute members to learn about the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service’s (APHIS) role in conducting animal food product facility inspections while processing a large volume of paperwork, such as import permit requests and export health certificates, required for animal product imports and exports, simultaneously advancing and expanding  U.S. market access by negotiating with trading partners. APHIS headquarters negotiators and field office staff will come together with industry to review “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” of what they are seeing and how industry can be better prepared for inspections, handling paperwork, communicating and collaborating to keep imports and exports flowing without delays. This is a unique networking opportunity to interact directly with APHIS import and export personnel.
