Who plans this event?

AFIA's Liquid Feed Committee oversees the planning of the symposium. We want to thank them for all their hard work and dedication to providing a fantastic program. 

What are the registration costs? 

The early-bird fees are $600 for members, $1,100 for nonmembers and $250 for guests if you register by June 23. The regular registration fees are $700 for members, $1,200 for nonmembers and $300 for guests, if you register after June 23. Late registration rates are $800 for members, $1,375 for nonmembers and $300 for guests, if you register after Aug. 14.  

Registration will include admittance to all the education sessions, two breakfasts, two receptions and lunch. Badges are required for admittance. 

Where can I book a hotel room?

To reserve your room at the Hyatt Regency Louisville, click here or call (502) 581-1234 and mention the “American Feed Industry Association’s Liquid Feed Symposium” to receive the room block rate of $199 per night (plus taxes) for single or double occupancy. The AFIA room block is available until the cut-off date of Aug. 14, or until the block is filled. We encourage you to reserve your room early. 

Please be aware that fraudulent companies have been calling attendees claiming to represent us and the Hyatt. The AFIA does not work with a housing bureau for this event and we do not endorse any of these companies. Reservations should only be made directly with the Hyatt Regency Louisville.

How do I register?

To register, click on the yellow register button on the top right corner of this page to register online. A printed registration list will not be available in 2023. Instead, we invite you to view and dowload the current registration list here.

What is the registration cancellation policy?

A 90% refund is available if you notify AFIA of cancellation in writing by July 5. A 50% refund is available when received prior to Aug. 14. No refund is available after Aug. 14. Refunds will be processed within 30 days after the event. AFIA reserves the right to cancel any conference it deems necessary. AFIA will not be responsible for airfare, hotel or other costs incurred by registrants. 

Will there be an offsite activity for LFS?

For the first time at LFS, we are inviting registrants to participate in an offsite activity at the Churchill Downs Racetrack on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2 - 8 p.m. There is an additional fee of $150 per person. The fee includes: round-trip transportation to and from the hotel, entrance to the Derby Museum, twilight races from the Roses Lounge including full buffet meal. Limited tickets are available (50), so we encourage reserving your tickets early. Tickets are nonrefundale but transferable.

Is the conference approved for ARPAS credit?

The agenda has been approved for 9 ARPAS CEU's. 

Is there a 1-day registration option?

We do not offer a 1-day registration option. As an attendee you will be able to participate in all general sessions and receptions at the event.

Is there an exhibit show for LFS this year?

LFS will not be hosting an exibit show this year. Instead, we urge everyone to take advantage of our sponsorships to maximize full potential of putting your company name and logo for all to see.

Will there be a mobile app for LFS?

We recommend everyone to download this year's mobile app. There will be a chance to connect via the app to schedule appointments. In compliance with GDPR and privacy policy, we will not be sharing any contact information and will utilize the app for all connections.

What is the dress code?

The dress code for this event is business casual. The climate in Louisville during September can be summarized as warm, humid and reasonably dry. September is in the fall/autumn in Louisville and is typically the 4th warmest month of the year. Daytime maximum temperatures average around a muggy 27°C (81°F), whilst at night 14°C (58°F) is normal.

Who do I notify about a food allergy/dietary restrictions?

There is a space during the registration process to let AFIA know about a food allergy/dietary restrictions. You may also email register@afia.org. 

What if I need a special accommodation for a disability?

This meeting is open to all persons without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age or disability. If you are a person with a special dietary need, or who requires reasonable accommodations due to a disability, and/or who requires alternative means of communication (such as Braille, large print, sign language or language interpretation), there is a space during the registration process to let AFIA know or you can contact Lynette Tucker.

How do I get a copy of AFIA's antitrust policy and Meeting and Event Code of Conduct?

Why do we now have a liability waiver and code of conduct?

As stakeholders in the success of this event, we all have a role to play in the mitigation of risk. These documents are meant to serve as a reminder and inspiration to know that if we all collectively respect the significance of these contributions; we are by definition advocating for the well-being of our fellow global citizens and our industry. Thank you for your cooperation in this effort as we all work together to get back to business in a normal environment. 

What are the terms and conditions of registering?

By registering for AFIA’s conference, you are agreeing that any photos or videos taken throughout the conference or at any networking events may be used for AFIA’s communications and marketing purposes. You agree to abide by the AFIA Antitrust Compliance and Confidentiality Policy and by registering are aware of AFIA's legal notice. Registrants will receive a name badge that must be worn for entry into all speaking sessions, exhibit halls, meals and social functions. AFIA reserves the right to deny entry into the conference or to cancel any conference it deems necessary. AFIA will not be responsible for airfare, hotel or other costs incurred by registrants.
