2021 proved to be a fabulous year for U.S. animal food exports! The latest data from the U.S. Department of Commerce shows that our industry’s exports grew 22% in value in 2021 compared to 2020, when including products such as feed additives, premixes, distillers dried grains with solubles, soybean meal, alfalfa and hay products, animal meals and pet food.

The top five export markets for these products are Canada, Mexico, China, Japan and South Korea. Exports to China alone increased 41%!

Feed additives, premixes, pet food, fishmeal, meat and bone meal and feather meal saw a 14% increase in exports. Pet food exports increased 19% in value, with Mexico representing 18% of that increase alone.

The data proves it - demand for the United States’ high-quality animal nutrition products is strong and growing!
