As part of my responsibilities at the American Feed Industry Association, I had the pleasure of spending most of last week at the AFIA Liquid Feed Symposium (LFS) in Louisville. This event is planned, moderated and hosted by AFIA’s Liquid Feed Committee, which is a perennial favorite of mine, and with good reason I suppose.
The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) held its 52nd annual Liquid Feed Symposium (LFS) last week in Louisville, Ky., where over 170 attendees gathered to hear the latest ingredient, weather and market forecasts and discuss the ways this unique industry segment factors into cattle producers’ sustainability objectives.
The American Feed Industry Association is excited to welcome back Jessica Morse. She was with the association several years ago and is back as our director of meetings and events. Rebecca Kane, CMP, recently joined the American Feed Industry Association, taking the helm of directing our meetings and events. I asked her about working in events and what she is excited about for this upcoming year.
There is a Ghanian concept, “Sankofa,” which loosely translates to: harnessing the knowledge people gained in the past to create opportunities for the future. I first heard about this phrase during the opening session at last week’s Alltech ONE conference and given the pressures currently facing consumers, farmers, governments, business leaders and society, it couldn’t be more perfectly timed.
